If you like to cover up a multitude of sins with full-cover foundation then you’re barking up the wrong tree with Frenchmen. Because Frenchmen like their women to have clear, beautiful skin naturally, yes, you heard right, naturally.
Now if you’re thinking, well, maybe Frenchwomen have God-sent skin, but I have crappy skin, you’re not alone. I have pretty awful skin. Combination skin, very oily T-zone, blackheads, breakouts any time my skin feels like it, dull skin when I’m PMSing, the works. So I figure I would take you on my journey of skincare discovery courtesy of a very helpful man at Sephora who said, and I quote: “You’re such a lovely pretty girl. It’s such a shame to spoil it all with bad skin.” Yeah, real subtle.
Here’s my prescription:
– Soap-free cleanser (morning & night)
– Aloe vera-based cream (morning & night)
– Richer cream in the winter (night)
– No exfoliator
– Gentle flaky skin refiner (morning, when I need it)
I have to say, my skin is doing much better. It appears to be clearing up and my complexion is evening out. I’m still using a bit of cover up, but much less. If ever it clears up completely, I will go back to Sephora and hug that man. Right after I slap him.
