Again, for all my anonymous readers and commenters, do sign off with a name so I know who you are. It helps me know who I’m reading about!
So, back in November, I got a comment from a gal called Nicole. Basically, she wanted to know if it was common for a Frenchman to visit his crush at work and vice versa. Her Frenchman showed an interest in seeing where she worked so she showed him around. Then he asked her to come by his work. Her question was if this was a Frenchman’s way of making things interesting.
Now, this is a good question. Seems to me like Nicole’s Frenchman was sniffing out the territory. Maybe their mutual interest was not established and visiting her workplace was a way to see her, without asking her out on a date. No man likes rejection, especially not a Frenchman. Perhaps visiting her work gave him an excuse to spend some more time with her to figure out if she was interested in him. Likewise, her visiting him at work, would extend that time but without actually committing to a date.
In a nutshell, visiting each other’s work at the beginning of something, is just scoping out the territory. Put simply, it will buy a guy more time if he’s not sure if you’ll say yes to a date.
Post first date, I would say that swinging by each other’s work to say hi, grabbing lunch together or meeting up for an after work drink are all good ways to keep things interesting, but once you’re dating.
So, Nicole, what happened? Did your Frenchman ever ask you out on a real date?
