This is the first in a series of posts about My Frenchman. And more specifically what the best things about him are.
My Frenchman is a morning person. I am not. What this means is that he’s already showered and dressed by the time I wake up. Most mornings, My Frenchman gently wakes me up. Either by stroking my cheek, giving me a light kiss or softly singing a song. Sometimes he gets back into bed for a cuddle. Sometimes he brings me breakfast in bed. Lucky me!
When he has to dash off for an early meeting, I’ll find an orange juice and a breakfast bowl and spoon on the kitchen counter. The first time he did that, I went Awww. Two and a half years later, I still go Awww. Sometimes he also leaves me a post-it note with hearts and kisses. That last one always makes me smile and start the day off dreamily.
I’ve never liked mornings. Even back when I was a kid, I hated getting up for school. Now I’m older, mornings are still a challenge, but my Frenchman makes them light and fluffy. I actually look forward to them now. Did I just say that?!
This morning as I said goodbye to my Frenchman as he left for work, I was still in my pjs! And naturally running late for work as per usual. Those words of love of his at the door mean so much, they’re a wonderful way to start any day :
Je t’aime, tu le sais ?
