My Frenchman sees his future with me. His honesty about this was upfront. As soon as he realized it, he just came out and told me. It was that simple, no beating about the bush, no coasting, no doubting himself. He just decided and said so. Which was wonderful because I’d already decided the same thing. In my head. I was giving our relationship time to see how he felt. No pressure.
Fastforward, and that brings us to 3 years together, 2 years and 11 months living together and a ring on my finger. What that ring represents is not just a wedding to plan, but a future side by side, plans to buy a house together, plans to enjoy life and travel, plans to always be there for each other, to cherish one another, to be thankful for each other.
When a man finds a woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with, it’s a powerful feeling. A feeling of being 100% sure, which leads to an open heart, open communication and true commitment. I always think it’s key for a woman to wait for her Frenchman to make the first step toward commitment, be that meeting friends and family, going on a first vacation together, moving in together, getting engaged. Why? Because it means so much more when a guy comes to those conclusions himself. And because he’ll feel satisfied that he’s the one that decided you’re The One.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
